Well it seems my intentions have been misunderstood completely. Probably my own fault or the fact that we all come from different parts of the world and speak with different styles.

personally, I love Mil-sim style airsoft. Coming from the UK thats all we played. I take airsoft more serious than some people and I'm aways looking to play with other people who do too. As far as applying real life military techniques to airsoft goes, I am all for it. It's a good idea.

I have on many occasions posted pictures and videos of British troops fighting the Taliban and as someone had mentioned, one of those clips was of a javelin being fired at an enemy position. I think this is a fine thing to post on here because I believe it would be hard to find anyone in TKO who found it offensive or insensitive, a lot of us, if not most of us, fully support our troops out there and posting a vid of them doing their job is a kinda way of cheering them on.

Tifast is a good airsoft mate and I intended no slant or disrespect to him. We are all friends here and I believe we can discuss topics (like this one) without feeling any anger or prejudice towards the content of the discussion.
In my opinion, the video wasn't a great example of CQB. The fact that it ended with dead bodies in full view was nothing to do with the reason for posting it. However, should we use such an example as this without even acknowledging the pain and sacrifice of those individuals?
As far as being emotional towards it, I'm not overly saddened by what I saw. I actually saw this video about 2-3 and since then have seem hundreds of even more controversially graphic images and videos. I am possibly sad to say that I am more-or-less completely numbed to the violence shown in war reels. But that isn't to say that everyone else is.

I got in trouble a while back for post a comment about the HBO series 'The Pacific' in which i stated that it "Blew my cock off!". My comment was removed and I was warned that we have younger members in our forums that might take offense. I thought that was fair enough.

Anyway, lets not close this discussion as I think it highlights some very important issues about how we go about expressing our love of the sport. Remember, we are all mates here and I can imagine having the same conversation over some beers... or wine.
Sorry for resurrecting, I was away on a business trip.

Even though it didn't go quite in a direction that I had anticipated, I have found this discussion actually extremely interesting. It really made me think and try to understand people's point of view, what are they thinking, how are they reacting, and why?

It also raises quite a few valid questions about what is our -personal and sometime ambivalent- interest in airsoft. Why do we dress up in gear, buy realistic looking replicas, put on cammies? How do react to violence, simulated violence?

I don't pretend I have definitive answers to all these questions. We have different background and history. I think I can understand where Wraith or Brandon come from, what is Ginger or Tobo saying.

One thing is clear though, I made mistake. What I could exchange and discuss with my pals from a very specific culture and experience is going to be perceived very differently out of this close context.

Is the video insensitive, the comment inappropriate? Yes, very likely as transposed into each and everyone's background.

Should I post it again if the case arises? I came to the conclusion that yes, I still should, but with a lot more explanation.

Very interesting thread, and to quote Tobo: "I think it highlights some very important issues about how we go about expressing our love of the sport"

Respect to Ginga for keeping the thread open.
Well said mate. I agree that you should NOT take the video down but maybe state that all intent and purpose of the posting is to highlight examples of real life CQB and not to undermine or ridicule those (dead or alive) in the video.

In the past when I've wanted to post videos of fighting from Afghanistan I've decided on a few not to post because of some of the content being a bit too graphic. But if we all agree to it and as long as we state exactly why we are posing it, it shouldn't be any trouble.
