As many of you may know, I used to go by the user name dstole. When looking around the forum you may see posts that reply directly to dstole. That was me.
Some people have been asking why I changed my name. I have made up a number of fake and unrealistic stories, and for that I am sorry.
The truth is, I joined a very powerful Ninja Guild.
Well, life in the guild has been pretty good. They have helped me to improve my shuriken skills, my smoke bomb skills, my breathing through a straw skills, and even my making food vanish skills. They are a powerful guild.
But I have a problem.
After my guild leaders watched some recent video of me at a TKO guild they commented that I was only living up to half of my call sign. They all agreed that my red beard and the remaining red hilights in my hair, along with my pale complextion made me a near perfect Ginger. I was very sad to discover that didn't feel that my quick, lightning fast reflexes and blending into the the shadows skills were up to par. They even went so far as to say that I was getting a bit wide, and that wearing a tight multi-cam battle shirt was kind of like seeing the giant Buddha in kamakura.
The guild masters made it very clear that if I didn't svelt up that they would kick me out of the guild. As you may well know from movies and other historical ninja documents, no one leaves the ninja guild. I think they were threatening to have me vanish, permanently
please, I need your help.
I need some quality work-out advice. What are some good exercises that will help me shave a few inches from the waist, and improve my ninja skillz?
Thanks in advance. If you like I can put in a good word for you at the guild. Maybe we can make it the most powerful guild evaaaaa.

I want whatever you're smoking.
Bicycle commuting is my recommendation.
You can do both an exercise and a commuting at the same time.
I'm with you Ron, I cycle to work as often as possible. The only time I don't is if the bike is in the shop or I'm traveling too far from home. Unfortunately Leon lives quite far from our office, so it's not really an option, although I have encouraged him to try it just once.

Thank you ThunderMidget for further input and now I'm trying to give a new option to Leon again.
@GingaNinga
How about a hybrid commuting? It means bicycle and train you can do that by using a parking lot for a bicycle on the way to your office.
This is more flexible way in terms of how to spend your time, if you don't have enough time to do bybrid commuting you can switch from it to normal train commuting. And also if you want to make some exercise you can choose hybrid one.
I was thinking of it this morning, but I would feel bad for the people on the train that had to stand by me on a hot summer day afetr I rode to the train station. I have a nice park near my house, so will try cycling in the morning before work.
I also joined a gym yesterday, so I hope that will help as well...as long as I go.

Recent studies have found that diet is FAR more important to weight loss than exercise is. The human mind tells the human body to do stuff that's counter to its interests if you exercise; we're more likely to "treat" ourselves to food that ruins all our hard work if we do cardio. Even for people who know about this effect, research has shown that the diet is without a doubt the thing to target.
If weightloss is the -only- goal, you're right. But that doesn't take health into factor - weight loss <> health.
P.S. Why is this not in the off-topic section?
Actually, if weightloss is the goal, proper diet, weight training and cardio are probably equally as important as each other.
Weight-training is important as the more muscle you have, the more calories your body will naturally burn without even doing anything.
That said, cardio is what will burn fat, not weight-training.
That said, both of these will be useless if your diet consists of mainly Coffee, Cola and M&Ms.
That said, everyone is different and unique, so your milage may vary.
Specific to you Ginga, in addition to the e-mail I sent you, we have an hour in the car on the way to Forest Union tomorrow to discuss if you'd like to go into detail.
The important thing is that you have recognized you want to do something to change, and you are taking the right steps to make the change. Make sure you set attainable goals and stick with your plan!
Q,
I added it to general discussion because I thought that physical training and my weight (aka lack of mobility) directly contributed to my poor performance on the field, and so thought it would be general discussion as it had something to do with airsoft.
If you would like to move it please feel free, bit it seemed to me to fit more in line with "The place to go if the other sub-forums didn't fit the bill," than "Non-airsoft topics - talk about your computer games, cars, camera, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc."
So you were Distole then hah, i wonder who's the guy then but i love your new codename...What i know from you is you are vegetarian...and that is really good..I am supporting you to continue your training at Ninja's group.. I have a suggestion for you and for everyone without using a lot of effort & time (we're all busy) like gym, exercises , workouts, cycling, running, etc etc,..there's an easy way & very simple.." There is only one food that can burn, clean and clear out your fats and that is FRUITS,
Yes fruits, how ever you should eat it fresh (not in canfood) and take it in the morning as your breakfast and when ever time of the day when your stomach is empty or your hungry..
1. WATER- Drinking water when you woke up, before your any meal (about 10 minutes before) or an 1 hour after your any meal, dont drink while your eating or after just eaten any meal. and the best time to drink water is when your really thirsty..if you can afford drink distilled water because it is pure water.. all water with a a mix up of something is already contaminated. Our body needs only pure water and it's not easy to find it. Only Fruits and Vegestable has it as well.
2. Increase eating more of your fresh veggies (without dressing) and cooked vegestables (70% fresh, not half cooked or overcooked)
3. If possible to lessen your Meat base food or processed food. (substitutes fresh nuts)
4. Avoid as much as possible to combine variety of foods, just one at a time.
ex. fresh salad + seafood + veggies
fresh salad + carbohydrates + veggies
fresh salad + protein + veggies
we usually combine foood altogether that makes our digestive system to digest the food properly and tendency to malfunction because of so many different intakes of different kinds. and if you drink water while eating it makes more worst since there's a fluid that helps to digest our food while all your food we're swimmming inside..such practices tends you to get sleepy afterwards (sip a small amount of water when you feel you need some fluid but not the whole glass of water)
5. Water goes through your stomach for about 10 minutes, so it's best to take it when you have empty stomach or before your meal.
Fruits goes through your stomach as well for about 30 minutes..dont combine other foods while eating fruits.
Usually food digested in our stomach for about an hour to 3 hrs. while meat base took about 8 hrs. The most energy consuming part of our body is our digesting system, therefore it so difficult to get lots of energy if we invest a lot for our digestive system. Remember our mind, hands, legs or other parts needs to consume energy as well.
If you want lose weight, feel energetic, feels good then follow my advices, just give it a try and you will know it for yourself....besides i am offering you Natural way, Natural food and it's available anywhere.
Losing weight is solely a matter of calorie deficiency. You simply need to burn more calories than you take in. You can create this gap by exercise or diet, it doesn't matter, but it's much easier to create a big deficiency by cutting calories out, rather than attempting to burn more. In any event, the most sustainable plans combine both diet and exercise.
This is a nasty workout I do sometimes to change up my gym routine. 3-2-1, 3 sets of cardio, 2 sets of weights, and 1 set of core muscle exercises. Simple and easy to remember. I don't do it every day because it seriously kicks my ass, but once a week or so is pretty doable.
