Hi all! I thought a thread for posting coupon codes for online airsoft retailers would be a good idea. I'm about to make a purchase from echigoya. Does anyone happen to have a coupon code for them? I tried searching, but I can't read Janese. By the way, for those of you who like me need English websites I found the international website for them.

Thanks
Welcome to TKO,
I would be surprised if you were able to find a coupon code for Echigoya as they are already one of the cheaper shops in Japan for Japanese made products like Tokyo Marui, etc.
Their English homepage is a bit more expensive than their Japanese one (example, M$A! Socom Electric Blowback is 33, 500 yen on the Japanese store and about 37,500 on the English one). Might be cheaper to make contact with someone on the site here and paypal them some money for a direct purchase...depending on what you are after.
Hi bverbics - welcome to TKO.
I agree with Ginga that there probably aren't any coupon codes out there (although can't say for sure). In general, most stores and websites in Japan aren't really setup the way they are in the US, and coupon codes are rare.
Usually stores provide a point card / point system that you can sign up for. I believe Echigoya has a point system where you get a certain percentage of your purchases back as points (store credit).
Thanks for the replies guys. I emailed echigoya for a price quote on getting the M4 Sopmod CQB-R and having them upgarde it to a 9.6v battery, change the TM stock piston to a Raseen
piston, and install riotSC CNC gears. I'll see what what they quote me. Very exciting. I happened to stumble across their website (didn't know they were already one of the less expensive shops), they are definately cheaper than the usual online retailers (Evike, GI, and such).
Been reading the threads... you folks sure know a lot.
Really glad I found TKOverkill!
Happy airsofting to you!
Hello again,
One thing to keep in mind is that if you order something from Japan, and request upgrades, I don't think they will be able to do anything that will put it over the Japanese legal limit of 1J (99m/s or about 328 f/s). It might be better to just buy the gun and then have a US shop do the custom work.
Also, the 9.6v battery they sell is a horrible deal. They essentially buy Tokyo Marui SOPMOD batteries, peel off the stickers, add new cells, and then sell it at almost 100 US. If you want to up the battery, I might suggest you get the SOCOM M4A1 version, as this will one is front wired and allows for better battery options. I bought one recently, and put a SOPMOD rail on the front...I have a new front end coming for it today that will allows a full size battery as well.
Just some thoughts

bverbics - Haven't personally had any experience with them, but redwolfairsoft.com seem to be open to doing custom setups - have you tried them? They are Hong Kong based, not Japan, so they might be able to provide custom builds that are higher power than what you could get in Japan. If you search the forums for redwolf, you'll probably find reviews and user experience - try this thread by Ginga:

Ginga - off topic, but I'm thinking of getting a backup gun - and that's exactly what I was thinking of doing - SOCOM M4A1 with a SOPMOD rail (or similar) - are your battery choices limited to lipo that way (due to space limitations)?
What front end are you getting today that allows full size batteries?
Psycho,
I will post some pictures and a quick review of the SOCOM today (if the delivery comes) or tomorrow to show what I have done with the front end, batter, etc. Wait for it....

Cool, thanks Ginga.
bverbics - if you're still around, let us know how things go with your custom order.
#1 I have a personal opinion on the Raseen Piston. Mine broke on me (but of course the others here on the forum has lots of opinions about my workmanship). I look at it this way, if it can't survive my abuse, it's not strong enough.
#2 the Raseen piston is more expensive than the international Magic Box version. Recommend you look at the Magic Box instead.
Hey Q,
I wasn't sure if you had tried the Raseen or not, so didn't want to comment. That said, I don't any of us doubt your workmanship, you have just had a bad spell of luck in the past few months. As we spoke about, I really think it is the hi-speed and hi torque motors with the lipo batteries with the weak Japanese springs that are causing you stress. Every time you have a breakage though you seem to have a pretty instant understanding of what has failed, and you have fixed many a gun at the field (including others'), so I don't think there are problems with your workmanship
Didn't that magic box stuff give you trouble as well?
I have always thought the Promo pistons were fine for the Sopmod.
Psycho,
added pictures and hand guard details of the SOCOM to the photo thread.
So Raseen == Magic Box. It's just that in Japan it's called Raseen. I had the Raseen piston in my Sopmod when it broke. To be honest I find them about the same durability of Angel & Systema (Red) - this is in my "plier crunching test".
You're right Prommy are strong, so are Super Cores (& even original TM). But Prommy & Super Cores don't make pistons for the Recoil Shock.
Thanks for your feedback guys.
What Ginga said about the upgrades makes a lot of sense.
I'll just order the unmodified gun and battery. I'll get the custom work done here in the States in a month or two.
This way I can save up and plan to get high quality parts.
As an FYI, below are the upgrades emailed to me by Echigoya:
Raseen Japan TM EBB upgrade Parts:
Piston- $40
Air seal nozzle- $18
Piston head- $30
Cylinder head- $26
Hard Gear set- $99
0.98 J spring: $13
optional gear set - riotsc CNC super torque gear set- $125 made in USA
Echigoya custom battery 9.6V for TM ebb: $94 <-----(Ginga was right!)
Upgrading service charge is $32 usd
I'm wondering if I can just upgrade the battery myself (thanks to Ginga's comments). Can I just buy a 9.6v 1600mah battery, then take apart the stock TM battery and replace the cells?
Would be very cool to do... would I need to have my gears and other internal upgraded first?
Ginga,
I would get the SOCOM for the wiring but am already commited to the SOPMOD because it matches two other guns I ordered yesterday for my two sons. We are all planning to have similar
CQB guns... PS I ordered them G&G GR15 CQBs... (I like my TM better). LOL
Looks like Echigoya pricing beats the pants off of everyone... well except their own Janese site:
SOPMOD - $449
Battery- $42
Shipping- $70
Sounds like you have things covered

There is a picture of the battery here in this post.

There is also a fellow in the UK named Richard doing Lipo upgrades top the stock TM battery.
He is at Eagle6 airsoft.
