Q, I'm no professional, but 10 is still a fairly small number I believe, I don't think you'll get flagged, although you might get taxed. Worst case the customs will call you and ask why you got 10, but I don't even think they'll bother.

If you're referring to
Magz' old post from 2009, no disrespect to Magz but a lot of rumours were floating around then & all the way up to now (thx to past rumours that evolved). Now not to say he was guessing but my understanding is Magpul PTS themselves hadn't finalised & was tossing ideas themselves. Unfortunately these ideas appeared to have been leaked (just like the proposed production dates). For many, the Masada => ACR was a very very long wait & kept everyone guessing/speculating.
Not saying they won't come up with a GBB or a PTW even, but if Magpul PTS did, it'll be a re-thought off idea, rather than something in their plans from 2.5 yrs back.

So just to let everyone know what I mean, I'm not referring to personal consumption import tax but some sort of commercial tax that they may think I'm doing some kind of business. These aren't 10x pencils or erasers i'm talking about but 10x¥36,000+ weapon-looking like toys.
Well still, since it's not meant for a business nor to be resold, there shouldn't be any commercial taxes, that's how it usually works.
Yeah but have to prove it otherwise remember :-P?? This is Japan....
I'd like a smooth transaction rather than a "prove what Im doing" headache.
Hmmm...thx for the info. However I don't think this document sums up all kinds of imports into Japan (did you notice it came from Singapore!?). You know that I'm pessimistic & expect the worst & plan accordingly. That's why I've asked Ginga for help about this as he has a friend who does import for a business & can find out the rules.
Really guys, appreciate the help but it's ok, just leave it with me. All I need are confirmed orders from you guys. Hopefully Ginga's friend will come back confirming good news.
FYI, shipping for WGC is 67$, so total is a little expensive for me,I think I'll let this batch go.
You got my order confirmed on your side Q, if you ever get the chance to get those replicas at this low price I'll owe you big time! ^^
Q, talking about adjustments after successfully getting ACR from HK ... Do we need to tune/detune it?
Yes, I'll need to ask them put it to legal limits
Usually HK resellers don't bother tuning the thing down, they just provide paperwork saying it's below limits and we need to do it ourselves. Right Q?
Therefore the spring will be most likely too strong, but the gearbox allow for quick removal of the spring, so it won't be a problem.
Funny, Q and I had a similar power/legal limit discussion via PM last night. Seems PTS had planned to send first batch to Japan, so hopefully they will be lower power. Sean didn't mention that $$ down was to finance the hijacking operation he's putting together...he should have about 300 of them in crates in his living room soon
In all seriousness, Q is considering the power issue in his discussion with his contacts.
Hope he can make this happen!
Yes 'cos if they're ((either my contact, or Magpul PTS) not doing a tune down, I'm not doing this bulk order.
No one can blame you there. Importing one gun with paperwork, no problem. Importing ten illegal guns... bit of a worry.
Thing is, you might not be able to know for sure. Ehobby and WGC all say "yeah yeah, it's tuned down, here's the paperwork", but when you test it upon receiving, peanuts, still above limits.
