Hello,
It is always a bit intimidating to introduce oneself in the virtual world of a forum :-) but I would like to take this opportunity to say "hello" and that I am very pleased to meet English speaking Airsofters in Japan.
I googled "airsoft in Japan", found the facebook site, then went to TKO, and managed to get a first contact with Sean through email who was very friendly.
To let you know a bit about myself, I enjoy teamwork and am mil-sim oriented (keeping in mind that purpose is fun and it's only a game).
I live in Komagome area on the Yamanote JR line (Tokyo) and have been living in Japan for 4 years. I work in a foreign company that is working with big Japanese manufacturers.
I used to do airsoft 8 years ago and being busy at work, I have been pretty much out of shape for the past 5 years, but... have started to run again lately and doing some Airsoft is only the natural continuation to some more sport activities!... :-)
I have been out of touch from Airsoft for a bit time so please forgive me if I make newbie mistakes all over again
So I went to Echigoya (found on internet) and bought a few stuff to start with... I hope I haven't made to many wrong choices and if you have comments (from a team perspective or have simply more experience you can share please do not hesitate to let me now.
-I went to Echigoya (was it the first mistake or a good move?
)
-bought a TM AK47 which, if I remember correctly, is a sturdy piece of AEG
-bought a Multicam BDU (copy, again for the price and choice I took it as a deliberate low risk possible mistake, is there a team most used BDU?)
-bought an extra mid-cap AK magazine (again was the high cap better?)
-extra battery
-Package mask (will need some advice here on what are the preferences)
-couldn't find any trekking shoes :-( any shop for taller 29-30 cm foot size foreigner?
-wanted to wait a bit for advice on red dot and radio and tactical vest.
As I said, been a bit out of touch from Airsoft but above all enjoy very much playing as a team member! So big hello to the team and hope you will be patient enough to put me back on track!
