Quote:Airsoft guns subject to the revision are those with pellets measuring at least six millimetres in diameter and can penetrate an aluminium can when fired from a distance of one meter. Those found in possession of such weapons are subject to a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine of up to 300,000 yen.

Guns that are over the 0.98 Joule rate are illegal: Fact
Guns found to fire over the new regulation will be prosecuted under the Japanese sword and fire arms act: Fact...see below!

Look at how they test it.....with a coke can....you might want to take a legal gun and try it out on one....you'll be surprised that it WILL go through! So you might want to think about this, because I will put money on it your local Koban police officer won't have a clue what he's doing and you'll end up down the station.
Playing Airsoft in a public place is illegal: Fact
You will be prosecuted under anti-social behaviour in a public place laws, thats if they don't shot you first for brandishing a weapon!
Are site organisers asked to report illegal/hot guns to the police: Yes! Apparently according to a Sergeant in the Riot Police that i work with, you have a +20 fps margin over the 0.98 rule. The guy below was reported at the "All STARS" field out near Atsugi City

Now we are all pretty much visitors to this country, and these are the laws of the land. Owning a gun over 0.98 Joule is illegal and we all know this.....yes it sucks but its there because people got hurt...in fact killed by Airsoft replicas that have been modified and by reckless use.
So openly admitting that they are breaking the law and DON'T have permission to play in a public park is just asking for trouble.
To be honest I don't think this is something you should allow to be advertised here on the forums as it seems you are endorsing and promoting such activities.
We have a moral obligation to be ambassadors for the sport, which includes educating people on the legal issues of the sport as well.
At the end of the day, those wishing to play itâs your visa thatâs on the line, and also your clean record. But remember this will go on your record as a âGun/Firearmâsâ. Which will pretty much prevent you from entering any country or visa.
