Went with Daniel (aka Hawk) last Monday to do some shopping and we both completed our kits with MC tactical vests we are happy with.

We looked quite a lot for shoes in the big size 11-11.5 US but nothing above 10... Sad

Anyone has a good address to recommend for big size (hiking shoes) in Tokyo? I'd prefer to buy actually a good pair of civilian trekking shoes.

cheers.

Gilles
I buy Original SWAT boots, these things are designed by guys on the front line and last... got 9 inch black and 9 inch Ca-Tan the black I've had for about 10 years now and still look new (year of spit and polish!) the Tans are 4 years old and still going strong.

They can be ordered in the US and shipped over for alot less than buying here in Japan:

thanks for that FE
No problem.... I think the Tan ones cost me about 10,000 Yen in total...Bates are great but very over priced for what they are.
Bates isn't overpriced if you get it from say, ebay. I have a pair of non-metallic desert assault boots and they are very, very good. They come with vibram soles, are very comfortable and have very good stiching so I'd definitely recommend them.
well, I ordered the SEK 6000. I doubt I will get them before Sunday :-)

So you will have to bear with my blue sneakers meanwhile ..

Sorry yes Ariel I was talking about prices here in Japan.... you can buy direct from Bates for about 130 USD for the M9 Combats
