I definitely had a blast, and even when I was irritated and baffled at myself for not being able to hit the broad side of a barn, it was still a learning experience.
With that in mind, does anyone have any specific advice for me? Either anything specific that won me that "first person out four (or was it five?) times in a row" medal, or anything I might have done to upset the other players, from not calling hits well enough, talking too much during the break time, walking in front of people, etc etc etc.
I think the obvious trick to not getting shot so much is to not rush all the time, and get better at aiming. Those are the obvious ones though, anyone able to think of anything else productive?
Yeah, when I push hard, some outings I am the king of the "ambush finders".

Balance is nice...pushing hard some games sit back on others. After a half day, you often get to find spots to hang and take shots from....
Nice game guys! See you again on January 10!
I'd like to thank all you guys for coming to the game! It's truly appreciated that you made the effort especially in the pouring rain in the morning & hope you all had a good time! Hope to catch you all soon again in Jan.

It sorta depends on field to field. For the 2nd half of the day, we found it was useful to storm and secure the back room (the one next to the bar) as 1st priority. For that a few of us rushed out there as fast as we could. But for the morning half on the 2-level field, going out slowly wasn't such a bad idea.

My 2 yen worth for you is to follow someone Big Grin. What I personally noticed in the red team was that once we started to coordinate more (like in sub-teams of 3) we did much better in room clearing. And constant communication with team members also helped.

3rd thing I personally learnt too was developing patience. Sometimes sitting and waiting for a certain duration is better than trying to move all the time. Let them come to you rather than you go to them - but of course that depends on your hiding position. I'm not good at picking a spot where I have to cover 3 entrances but maybe can manage 2 at best.
Hello everyone!
