Tonight I was gonna Dremel my MUR to fit in the Sopmod (to replace the upper receiver).

I got it from Tokyu Hands' bicycle section for 1,500-something Yen.

I also saw a G&P version at Airborne which is 500 Yen cheaper.

Fantastic.... its generic Delta ring thread....from what i was lead to beleive i thought it was some new fangled way to screw up probably one of the best guns on the market for a bit of extra revenue..... but all you need is a real Delta ring (of which I have 6 laying around) and hey presto.

Actually thats not the tool you want and it will rip off the teeth of your locking nut, one that looks simlar is a buffer tube wrench.
What you need is this its a delta ring wrench and a buffer tube wrench:

Anyone changed out the front kit of the SOPMOD yet? Interested in hearing your experiences, especially if anyone's tried fitting a KingArms CASV.

It says that in case the threads on the joint part is hard (not soft, dunno what they mean about that), some machining is required (what exactly will be machined, it doesn't say).

BTW, I did the following changes in my SOPMOD M4 and it shot at 97 m/s at SPLASH last Sunday.

• Prometheus Type B Cylinder
• KM Piston head
• Prometheus 407mm inner barrel
  

Everything else is stock.

Thx Echo19! Much appreciated! I'm keen on the NRH02. Seems everyone's going for DD these days, thought I'd go for the Noveske instead. Looks doable.

I also got my SOPMOD yesterday from Echigoya first shots were around 85-86 mps...

So how much do the below changes amount to?

Success! Tried swapping out the front to a Madbull Gemtech Talon System and here's the result :



The barrel nut that comes with the Talon System fits snugly to the upper receiver's front joint. No machining was required. Good indication that the Noveske systems will work equally well.

Costs are the following:

• Prometheus Type B Cylinder = 1,680
• KM Piston head = 1,092
• Prometheus 407mm inner barrel = 4,872
  

The KM piston head comes with 2 screws, one with a fine thread and flat end, the other with a coarse screw and a pointed end. To use it with the SOPMOD M4's stock piston head nut, you have to cut 2~3 mm from the end of the fine-threaded screw so it would tighten.

For those of you who've thought of reusing older M4 magazines with the SOPMOD (if you don't mind losing the anti-dryfire functionality)

Hi all,
I got big problem when i disassembing my SOPMOD. i resassembing it all back. I got problem about BOLT lock action not working normally. Normally bolt action will be lock if insert emtry magazine. But my gun doesn't work. So Could you please advise me how to resassembing bolt function of this gun each details.

There are 3 pieces that belong on the outside mechabox (front, below the piston) that take care of the bolt lock (stopping of dry-fire), have a look at the pictures in this post or manual and see if you reassembled the pieces in the right order.

Very thank you But i got 2 new problem came up. I got damage on pistion So which one can replace it. and Bolt action not work normally. Normally when insert EMTRY mag into gun bolt will automatic lock. But my gun if insert emtry mag. i have to fire 1 shot after that bolt will be lock.
