Hey all... Just wanted to say "hi" and give a short intro...
Only been in Japan about 7 months now, but have a looooong history in airsoft (been collecting since the late '80s, playing since the mid '90s).
I was very active in the SoCal and Las Vegas airsoft scenes before moving to Japan. Have helped to plan and staff a number of big US OPs, (including LC4, Hac Bao 2/2.5, Irene 3, LC5, and LC7), as well as helping to create and establish the "Wildcards" team in Vegas...
Now, I'm just looking for a good group of folks to get some trigger time with now and again.
I'm currently out in Gunma, and am still trying to rebuild my arsenal and get some of my kit shipped over from the states... So it'll probably be a little while before I'm able to make it out to any games - but I'm looking forward to the chance to get out on the field again before too long.
Hey, welcome Matrix!
Lot's of good people and good spirit. If you need any tip, shops, you'll find a lot of good advice from the team.
Welcome aboard Matrix!
Really honored to have someone with such a long history in airsoft as well as the organizational side of things as well. Always wondered how the games in the states were ran, could only imagine from the youtube's online.
If you're ever planning to be in the Tokyo region, give the forum a shout and would be awesome to meet up for drinks/food/airsofting. Totally fascinated by the huge LC events and would be great to hear first hand how those events go.
You might be interested in the Irene event scheduled on April 15th which so happens to also be in Gunma. If you need gear, we'll be able to help as well.
Cheers-
Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Anarchy, I appreciate the info about Irene... I had seen the event announcement and was thinking about it, but I'm not sure what my availability is looking like right then... I'll keep it in mind, and see how things are shaping up in a couple weeks.
As for heading in to Tokyo... Although I'm "technically" out in Gunma, I'm actually on the Gunma/Saitama border (literally... the river that marks the prefectural border is about 400m behind my apartment) - so Ueno is only about a 1.5 hr ride on the Takasaki line. Because I'm not too far out in the boondocks, I try to get into the city about once every 4~6 weeks on average.
(I may actually be in town next weekend - want to go back to Frontier and/or Echigoya and spend a little money... depending on if the wife tags along, I might be able to meet up for a drink or such).
Hello Matrix & welcome !
The "drink or such" thingie sounds good
