I've decided to upload a tutorial on how to upload images onto the TKO forums without effecting the user's maximum attachment size quota.

While a good many of us are IT professionals, this tutorial is for the rest of us who aren't as tech-savvy

First, go to imageshack, which is an image hosting service.

Click Browse.

Select whatever picture you want to upload (1.)
and
Click OK (2.)

Your selected image's filename should display where the red arrow is.

Because you don't want to upload images that are too large to view on a computer display, we want to resize the image.

Check the box next to resize image, which is circled red.

Then, click on the drop-down box.

Select whatever resolution you find appropriate.
for this example, I chose 800 x 600, which is reasonably small.
1024 x 768 is the best for most purposes (I think ).

click the "start upload!" button, located to the right of Obama's head.

After the button is pressed, a progress bar should appear, like the image below.

When the upload is finished, you should be directed to a page that looks like the image below.

Click on the box labeled "Direct Link to Image".

Select all of the text in the box (right click and select "select all").

Then, copy and paste (right click and select "copy").

Great, we have successfully "hosted" the image.
Now, we need to post the hosted image to the desired TKO thread.

Open up another tab or window, and access the TKO forums.
Click on "Post Reply" on whatever thread you want to post your images to.

That should direct you to the "Post a New Reply" page.

Click on the "Insert Image" button, which is circled in red in the image below. (It's rather small.)

A box should appear, requesting you to "enter the remote URL of the image you wish to insert."

Delete what's already in the box, and paste.
The url that you copied should appear in the box, like below.
Click OK.

Text will automatically appear in the reply text box. Do not change it or delete it.

Add some comments if you wish.
You can see that I decided to insert a newbish comment.

Click "Post Reply" at the bottom of the page.

The end result should look like this:

Thanks for the thread I think this will be useful for many of us here.

i find that Photo Bucket does the job much better.
