the whole area looks pretty sodden, it probably wasn't a pond or such but the earth couldn't hold the weight of the tank.... happens alot with beach landings

Those are heavy tanks. Could have just got stuck in some bog and as they tried to maneuver the tank out it just sucked them down more.
I wonder how they got it out, if they got it out, or maybe they just use it as a stationary gun now.
I guess a heavy lifter type of helicopter could take care of that... probably cheaper than buying a whole new tank
