Actually its not an M4, similar but different. The Brits use a FN L119A1. It has a larger barrel throat to cut down on the carbon deposits thus reducing jams. There are everal other differences. Its issued to special forces team and the Pathfinders are considered one of the few SF in the British armed forces.

Yep! what he said. The Pathfinders are the special forces arm of the Parachute Regiment. A lot of the kit you see these guys wearing and using is purchased privately. This is common amongst regular British troops, not just SF. "Ally"

Far more reliable than the Hummer, and the fact that they can take a direct hit from an IED with a no lose of life result is something impressive.
The vechiles they are using are technically prototypes and not really in full service and they are very well made, 6 weeks in the desert can do alot to a vechile. Although you still can't be the old Army Land Rovers.... those things never die! We actually left one in a river overnight towed it out the next morning and with a few squirts of WD40 the thing started on the 4th try!
Also wasn't suprised about the US ammo jamming all the time had the same issues more than 12 years ago. Its one of the reasons why the MOD has signed a contract for more ammo to be made in the UK to UK standards!
