Thought you guys may be interested in this. I'm investigating about building up a GBB M4 from scratch. If not possible then the AGM M4 (USD$126) could be a base to start from. From my posts in Arnies, and GGI, it seems that there are enough after market parts to build a GBB M4 from scratch. Only a few parts (possibly pins and springs) missing which from a cost perspective isn't worth $126. Naturally from a learning experience perspective, the $126 may be worthwhile investing.

Q, I got talking with the guys at Madbull who have got hold of several of these for testing and they say the quality is better than the standard WA M4A1 and 100% compatible with all parts!!!! Im getting one of these!
Guys they are out at ebaybanned $176-178 and they are WA clones
Awww. And I just got a second hand WA M4A1 for less than half the original price - which is still more than that. Well, at least there's the cheaper mags. I just hope that they're not bombs.
I just saw a AGM M4 GBB on Yahoo auctions going for 16,000yen.
Not a bad price to purchase in Japan!! no hassels with shipping etc...

I hear they are pretty shoddy and wobble like mad, but for 130 dollars Im sure I'd put up with it.

Not going to give up my WE M4 just yet, but if I cant get the FPS on it below 300 by the time I move there I'll end up picking one of these up with a RATech adjustable FPS bolt head.
That kinda sucks, because I recently got a second hand WA M4A1 for less than half the price - including shipping I could have saved around 7,000 Yen if I got that instead.

Oh well, maybe less QC issues with a WA one... I hope...

Edit: wait, it seems that the one in Yahoo! Auctions isn't here. They'll just order it for you overseas. Airmail and a 1 week delivery time is mentioned.
A first review for AGM M4 GBB:
Quote:Gentlemen. Simply put we have a winner.
After spending 2 hours I shot 1500 rounds total through the rifle. 750 on Duster and 750 on Propane. I don't have a chrono, so no hard numbers.
Duster.
Mag held up great, no leaks no real trouble other than the initial fill kept venting, but apply a little pressure on the knocker valve and all is well.
I would say the duster is actually skirmish able on this. I was seeing right around 100 - 110 feet, with it being RIGHT ON THE MONEY for the shots I was making against a tree. Very very impressed. Fire rate was one shot every 2 seconds. I did not rapid fire or full auto, as my intent was to gauge the flight of the BB.
Propane.
The mag did not leak, on any of the 18 fill up's or top offs I did on it. Seriously if these mags cost under 30 bucks holy crap, I actually dropped it onto my concrete floor from a height of about 5 feet, and not scratch and its fully working.
Very very skirmish able. I was seeing 150ft+ was getting dark, these were flying straight and true. I'm very impressed.
Bad things:
So BB's if you point the gun straight down will just roll out of the barrel on to the floor. Didn't matter how much I adjusted the hop was the same.
At around BB number 600 on Propane(so 1350ish overall) the hop broke just like on the WA. The segment from about 10' o clock to 12' o clock broke on it.(Going clockwise)
Did I expect that....yup exact same place it broke on my WA. Did it affect rounds 601 - 750, nope it kept shooting like a gem. The bolt face showed no wear signs that I could make out.
Suggested upgrades:
Metal bolt face(can't be to safe in my opinion because its going to break on propane eventually)
Metal Hop(ya we all knew this was to be expected)
Out side of those two upgrades I don't see anything else that has to be upgrade on this puppy. The overall quality of the piece is very very nice.
I'm veryyyyyyyyyy impressed with these mags. I think we have some really winners with them.
Overall this is a great piece. I think with a couple of upgrades for reliability on high pressure gases these things will last practically for ever, but we'll see. To continue this review over the next couple of weeks I'll be putting 500 rounds total (250 Duster 250 Propane) each day through it to see how the wear and tear is on the overall system. At the same time I'll be putting in the orders for the new parts I mentioned above.

And a first round of Q&A:
Quote:Q: So far so good though poison! Glad you like this one better than your WA, but a question, if your WA had performed like this AGM does would you have kept it?
A: Sure. Granted I think one of the things that pissed me off about the WA the most what a year ago, was the damn mags. Those things were so friggin worthless for how much the cost a the time.

Here are some questions that might help others. I'm still not getting one not because i think it's junk or anything but it's good for others to know and also helpful to me when i give other people advice on how to fix it.

Q: So when people play with this they can't aim the gun down?
A: Ya. I'm working on that, might be a issue with mine only though so I'm not sure at the moment.

Q: Not a single jam during the 1500 rounds?
A: None. Functioned perfectly.

Q: Did it lock back after every shot? And when it does lock back, is it the WA design where if you pull back on the charging handle the bolt stop doesn't go back down?
A: On the propane yes. On the duster it got iffy a couple of times. Yes same as the WA/RS design in that aspect.

Q: After so many shots how is the bolt stop area as far as wear goes? (wondering if it's possible to break in the same spot as the WA does)
A: Its showing some where. I'm predicting its going to break at over 4k rounds though based on the wear I'm seeing on it.

Q: Why do you recommend a metal bolt face?
A: I'm not noticing any wear so far on the face, but I'm going to the metal NPAS complete setup to jump ahead of what I know is coming.

Q: What weight bb were you using for the 1500 shots?
A: .25s All I've got at the moment.

Q: Were you able to notice a difference in trajectory when you adjusted hop-up?
A: Slight one way or the other. Maybe a difference of about a 1 foot on the tree I was shooting.

Q: Can you tell if the inner barrel is a 368/370mm-ish m4a1 length inner or if it's a 210mm like the stock WA is? (i'm assuming m4a1 due to its high fps)
A: Its a full length barrel. 368/370

Q: I have a feeling the reason why the gun kept shooting even with the hop-up chamber broken was because they may have excluded the little o-ring that sits on the outer part of the hop-up. When the WA hop-up chamber breaks, the o-ring can slip through causing jams and in turn damage to the nozzle. Can you confirm whether there's an o-ring on the hop-up entrance lip?
A: The o-ring is there, but the break isn't big enough for it to be moving from what I can see.

When you get the WA parts please let everyone know whether it will fit or not.

It does sound tempting... and usable on HFC for games in Japan.
It's really cheap too, but mags might get the bill a little higher. What do you think guys ?
Mags were supposed to be USD$18 when available. But reliability, not certain....was told it leaked with top/propane but ok with HFC.
