hey,
I was wondering if full tune-up kits are worthwhile? I never see any in shops, but online the systema ones go for around 20,000 yen i guess?
Is it better just to replace parts as i go... hop up, barrel, spring, and so on?
I feel like my p90 is showing some wear (power/accuracy wise), so was thinking of doing my first upgrades.
It just a quick way of getting all the components in one package. Personally I've been getting my parts separately. Note though that power/accuracy fluctuations may not necessarily mean wear/tear...but maybe just requires maintenance (clean/lube). However if you want to use this opportunity to change anyway FTK's are a way to start.
FTKs in my opinion are full of "nice to haves" but not everything is necessary for an upgrade, especially in Japan. You can upgrade your P90 with parts having a total cost of less than 3,000.
thanks for the feedback. I might take it to echigoya and ask them for some advice about a few cheap upgrades. probably the best way to go
Errr...I wouldn't ask Echigoya actually. My honest opinion...go to a TKO workshop, or ask around here first on assistance/troubleshooting. I find shops here quite often recommend unnecessary upgrades/parts.
Yeah I 2nd Q's opinion, I've heard of one too many of those unneccessary upgrade stories.
A good alternative (if available for the type of mechabox and u decided on a full overhaul) is a complete kit which is basically a drop in replacement. Perhaps some small work is needed on the connector or wiring and obviously to be able to strip and reassemble the gun but saves one from having to get into the mechabox. I picked up a Systema Full Kit (M4A1 turbo, apx 25,000yen) and have been using it for 2 years with minimum issues. The Systema Revolution is another awesome choice for a V2 replacement but is a little pricey (apx 38,000yen + shipping on Yahoo Auction)
If you've decided on learning the intricacies of the mechabox then like hazard said, key in on the cmponents you need individually and upgrade as needed as that will also teach u how each component contributes to the upgrade.
G'luck!
