I have notice a huge increase in people complaining about injuries knocks scrapes and bruises picked up by playing Airsoft and it prompted me to put some of my thoughts down, this is not aimed at anyone in general but basically a broad picture of the sport in general.

We are playing an Extreme sport where we fire high velocity projectiles at each other deliberately trying to hit the opposition somewhere on their person. Now I condone the use of hot weapons, but it seems to me that there are a lot of people complaining about getting hurt and calling out about hot weapons and the likes, but really if welts, bruising and bleeding is an issue I think that some of you really have joined the wrong sport to participate in.
This is a dangerous sport that can result in permanent injury and every field and team asks that you read the rules and guidelines before signing up. If injury is still an issue, then there are numerous products on the market to protect your eyes, teeth, face, ect.

At the end of the day it is your responsibility that you are wearing the protection you need. But do not expect another player not to aim at certain parts of your anatomy because it’s exposed or not to fire as maybe you feel it is too close, as we all agree when walking on to the field to follow the rules and regulations of the game and to let one another take pot shots at each other for fun.

This is a dangerous sport, you will get minor cuts, bruises, scraps and cuts but also run the risk of major injury. If this is an issue for anyone in or looking to join the hobby of Airsoft then I suggest NERF. (but even they promote the use of eye protection_
Well TBH I haven't heard much complaints on the field but I know there is the odd finger pointing on the forums and sometimes after the games. I very much doubt that players (in TKO private games) would risk using HOT weapons that are over the joule limit.

Like Fareast said, It is a dangerous sport and it is inevitable that at some point you will end up with a very painful welt but some of the time this will be because you were hit at close range.

I know most of you can take it and to those who cant then find another hobby. I'm sure most of you remember on Sat when i was hit with a burst at VERY close range on the arm. It shocked a lot of you but it didn't really shock me. I was close enough to my enemy to know that it would cause this kind of injury so i laughed it off and played on.

Ghost's thread "The Dark Side" is a great idea because it cool to see just how gnarley airsoft is. Share pics but please don't point fingers.

Its a game of honor and that doesn't just mean taking your hits. It means taking your hits well.

Anyway, thats just my opinion.
I like fighting my fears Wink
Honestly, the biggest risk that I can think of has nothing to do with the guns.

I notice, especially at SEALS, there's some terrain that would make for a NASTY fall. With all the gear that some people carry and the fact that sprinting outdoors is dangerous in general...

But the guns are practically harmless as long as you have glasses on.

was that a typo?

Red dots, welts and bruises are part of the game but so is honesty and responsibility. Anyone bringing overpowered weapons to games is just being a jerk. Even if it is unintentional. If you have done mods and haven't chronoed your weapon you shouldn't use it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing anyone of using illegal weapons I just think that we need to be responsible and make sure all members are aware that we won't tolerate people taking liberties with the rules.
I got a concussion from when I hit my head on a tree at SEALS when entering a bunker - probably about a year ago now.

Was totally dizzy for about 2 weeks Tongue
This is what i was talking about

they are only hot in japan, which has stupid rules when it comes to airsoft
in the US i can take a 600FPS sniper rifle, and as long as i heed ROE, i can use it.

anwyays

I tore my quad a month or so ago at kawagoe, its all part of the game.
Yah, but you are in Japan, so they are hot.
When you go back to the states you can use those 600FPS guns, but please don't use them here, especially in a game I am involved in , ESPECIALLY if you aren't on my team. i might have to move you over to my side for the game tomorrow Smile
nah, i wont do that here. but its just hte fact that 2j is dumb. super dumb. if you are like 2.1j its not like its gonna hurt someone (like you had a problem that one day or wahtever)

i just think there shoudl be a +- to that number
injuries... pain... hmmmm I like them and I dont reallly care but once I got hit BB on my front teeth and it cost me fortune at inplant dentist tho lol
100,000 per cap (tooth) makes me wear a mask every time I play.
