I am looking fr a hard case big enough to hold one M4 sized rifle and one hand gun plus some extra room for mags.

Must be lockable because I intend to take on a plane.
I have heard that many people try to cary their real rifles in gear bags or cases that look less like a gun case and more like a regular bag due to increased theft. A gun case checked in announces you are carrying a gun, especially when on route to and from the airport, hotels, etc. Would be a shame to have your airsoft M4 stolen because someone mistook it for the real thing Wink

If you separated the the front and rear end, took out the inner barrel, etc you could probably use a small, less obvious case.
Just a thought.
problem is though even airsoft products have to be in a hard lockable case..... I have one but I'm selling it for 10,000.
I will need to think about it. I'm considering sending my gun by post.
Tobo if you are sending it by post to the UK then your going to need to jump through hoops to get it cleared. Have a look on the threads on ArniesAirsoft.co.uk regarding the VCR bill and postal services.
Get a racket bag instead. When I checked in my badminton rackets in racket bags they went through in one piece. And guns are supposed to be tougher than badminton rackets.
Read my post..... the container needs to conform to the rules and regulations of the Air company. Also Tobo you may want to check that the Air company even allows guns or replicas onboard as some companies won't even allow them as check in.
I guess it will all depend on the carrier or the baggage screeners.

In the past (as recent as Q1 2008) at least 2 people I know were able to bring airsoft pistols to the Philippines using regular suitcases via JAL.
Thanks guys. I will check everything first with HMHO and UK customs. I will probably send this via post. If i do, how is the best way to pack an airsoft gun? Bearing in mind i threw away the boxes.
Hazard thats the Philippines, for the US and UK they need to be carried in a hard locked case ( I've had to do it several times personally). Also the UK has very specific rules regarding the VCR bill also.

Tobo....thats going to be tricky.... speak to HMHO and HMC as well
so in your opinion Fareast which is easiest: take on plane (i will probably have a transit flight) or send via post?
Personally I've done both post and plane (between HK<->TK). My personal opinion, post (with certificate).

I see... So it's a mix of the airline, the country of origin, and the destination. Thanks for the info.

In any case, sending it by courier/post will be more practical I think...
Tobo, I would say post is with certification, also areyou a member of the AOBA or any other organisation that proves you are a regular skirmisher?
I agree with posting. I've done both (but between HK<->TK). I think most of you have already known my stories but in order of priority of best to worst :-

1) post with certification
2) plane transport with certification (expect to delay flight - at least I did by 10 mins Big Grin)
3) post without certification (expect delays or confiscation, letter of apology and/or possibly fine, and slim slim possibly arrest)
4) plane without certification (expect to delay/miss your flight Big Grin and slim slim possibly arrest)

Actually, be -very- careful transporting RS stuff with you by plane. In fact my personal opinion is don't do it at all just post instead. Quite a few countries take RS stuff very seriously - this isn't about bringing in, it's about taking it out of the country. A lot of countries like HK have laws of being used as an exporting or middle ground (presumably agreements with countries like US).
