Well, it is out.
The first reviews seem very mixed in regard of the story telling. So no, I am not going to rush to get it. Maybe the gameplay for multiplayer and coop is good, but to tell the truth (as if usually I'd lie

) I was expecting some kind of engaging/escapist story to have some good time at home after work.
The only promise is for a four and half hour of campaign game.

The multiplayer'd better be good
I was thinking of getting the PC version, but the reviews are mainly negative for MP, while the SP is short indeed. Plus, the contents are locked tight, no dedicated server hosting, server slots maxed to 18, no Coop mode, not using punkbuster, etc.
Guess it's mainly developed for consoles, so enjoy it guys

I have been waiting for my copy to come from overseas for 2 days. I pre-ordered 4 copies for me and my buddies, and ThunderMidget went so far as to say he didn't want to come to a game on the 22nd cause he was gonna play the game all weekend

Maybe that's why I couldn't get numbers for the game on the 21st
Will let you know what I think as soon as it gets plays a bit.
I refuse to buy it for PC or otherwise. The developer has turned around and shat all over its roots in PC gaming. No custom maps, no dedicated servers, 18 play max, and a super short single player campaign.
NO THANKS! Let the halo kiddies have it.
Yah, I have read that there are many PC users that are feeling ignored and frustrated by the changes to the PC version.

Exactly my thoughts Wraith

I do appreciate the technological leap used in MW2, and I was stunned by the trailer videos: realism, adrenaline, etc. That's why I wanted to get it in the first place.
But it's obviously not PC-friendly, and that's OK, not much to do about it. Will forget about it. Also wishing console users a "happy gaming", no reasons to bash each other. Would even like to hear on how MP 'feels' like
FYI on X-Box use:

nutshell
campaign = insane
spec ops = more insane, slight re-hash of the campaign but really fun in two player mode.
multiplayer = forces you do game chat, lots of poo talking
if i get do any of what's in the campaign or spec ops as an officer in the army, i will be so happy.
hey leon
did your import copies work ok for mp? i was gonna get the steam version, but its not possible to buy it until the japanese retail version is out (mid december i guess). so i was wondering about the xbox imports
We got the Asian edition from play-asia. All English, and everything works fine on my Japanese PS3.
I'm getting mine delivered this weekend. I'm on the PS3.

the only guy who can play this game for free got to own a (decent) PC
PS: I'm not a supporter of piracy, but since I'm just a student (and budget gamer), and compared to standards of living and income (250-280 US$ per month for entry level white collar worker w/ college degree) in my home country, piracy is the only way to enjoy and respect technology PC games offers
yeah, but don't brag about it on the forum. It's still illegal.
thanks
