For those of you who don't know, I left Japan about 5 months ago to join the US Army. I will be going through Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Officer Candidate School. I will blog the entire experience (it will take some time to put it up because I won't have access to my laptop until february.)

I will probably post mini updates from my twitter account (http://twitter.com/ghaash) until I can figure out how to blog from my iphone.
Congrats Daniel. I hope it all goes well, and it will be interesting to read about your journey. My guess is its gonna be a hard road (at least that is what TV had taught me Smile

I checked your site and would recommend that you not put your email address out there the way you have as many SPAM bots will grab it and you will be getting "offers" day in and day out. Maybe replacing the @ mark with something like [replace with @ mark] or something would work. Any human (as apposed to SPAM robot) should be able to figure that out.

Anyway, best of luck to you.
thanks dstole!

And the e-mail is changed. I was lucky and no spam bots caught the e-mail address.
Cool. I don't mean to be pedantic, but if you leave the address in the code of the site then the bots will find it there as well. You have changed the visible link on the page, but in the code you still have the email in the open in the page code...
From the page code
" E-mail me at visible link on page

If you don't want the bots offering you viagra and implants then I would use a form based mail script that keeps your details hidden, or the way you have it minus the clickable link to open an email program and have the subject added for your visitor. My guess is a human visitor will be able to copy, paste, and fix the address you have given them.

Just my 2¥ on the issue. Sorry if I am being an ass and telling you things you already know.
thanks again!
Regarding blogging from your iphone...
I have a wordpress set-up on my own domain and there is an iphone client that works very well.
You could probably set up a free wordpress account on their servers and access it via your iphone.

There is some good info here

Wordpress on iphone

It seems to have been written in 2008, but the info seems pretty sound.
PM me if you need a hand.
