So I have a Tokyo Marui M933 (essentially an M4 A1) and I was thinking about removing the delta ring to replace it with a different one or a new handguard all together. I've seen a couple of take downs of M4's, but most of them seem centered around getting to the mechanical box. I was wondering if I could just remove the d-ring without having to separate the upper and lower receiver. I'm trying to gauge how much work this would be, since I'm still a newbie at a lot of this and don't want to mess up my gun. Also, what tools do you recommend for the task.

When I replace the MOE hand guard for M933 the clerk said that he had to exchange the delta rings. I bought the delta ring of G&P.
However, I requested the installation to the shop because I had not had the wrench.

Cool, thanks for the offer. How much did it cost? I'm also interested in getting the MOE handgaurd.
The amount of money that I paid is as follows.
The delta ring: About 3000 yen
Labor fee :　About 1000 yen
However, my M933 is changed by the metal receiver made of G&P.
Because the labor fee was cheaper, I stopped the wrench being bought.
I recommend that you may ask to Echigoya SHINJUKU for replacing
a Delta ring & MOE hand guard. I do not recommend an Akihabara shop.

If I do go to Echigoya, I'll definitely ask you for help, and the price seems right. I'm still staring at the manual and break down to see if I can figure it out, but I'll make a call after the holidays. I'm also considering trying to place a RIS style handguard or something, but we'll see how much money is left in my stocking after X-mas, lol.
