So I'm at a loss here...where's the place to go for the countdown on new years? I've heard to go to Shibuya or Roppongi and hit the bars, but does anyone have specifics or any better ideas about what to do with my night?

Hi Wraith,

Shibuya or Roppongi are good places to go once. So you may want to do it now and be done with it Smile
Yeah thats my current plan. Which ones better and which place should I hit up while I'm here?
Aren't you coming to the TKO night game Smile

Wherever you find yourself have fun and be safe.
I didnt know there was a TKO night game, otherwise I would have been there!
There isn't Smile
I was trying to imply that I have nothing better to do than play a game on New Year's Eve.
I think my wife and kids would have me removed if I spent the night at a game Smile

Hi Wraith,

Roppongi is a sort of special tiny bit sleazy Disneyland for mature foreigners designed to sponge you off your money. You should tear the place right and left at least your first few months in Japan and... never look back Rolleyes

Shibuya, I believe you'd keep it as reserve to go with people who know where to go.

When you feel ready, you'll know you want to graduate to better spots, but meanwhile I firmly believe you should go to one of the above first.

I went outside to walk to the train station and made it as far as the front gate. Grabbed a few Chu Hi's at the shoppette and went right back to my room. I'm going to pre game it here and then head to the EClub on base, its too damn cold.
If you like a scenery of seaside I recommend this for the end of this year.
(I'm sorry for being late to inform that.)

You can enjoy "the steam whistle of New Year's Eve"

Probably a wise decision. Anyway, the 1st of January is overrated.
Ahh you should Tokyo it up at least once for new years before you leave here...I went once it was insanely packed but still an experience...
