Anyone has a good recommendation for an ACOG type scope?

Preferrably not too heavy.

thanks!

Are you looking for one with magnification or no mag? Also, what's your price range? You can get some pretty cheap red dot style zero mag ones online, but the more expensive magnified models tend to set you back.
Dont bother with anything not magnified. I had a "red dot" style and it was terrible, like every other made for airsoft red dot. The parallax was TERRIBLE and it was completely unusable. If you're going to get one, get a proper 3x magnifications sight.
hi Drifter,

I suppose I'd go with what Wraith suggests, mag x 3. I have a red dot and it is not that great.
Only good red dot I saw so far, was the first one I bought from Anarchy at my first game, a Hurricane. It's awesome, but the internal adjusting mechanism is kinda broken >_<

Anyway, I heard G&P's ACOGs aren't too bad, but checks for reviews online to confirm which one first.
Most of the Acog's I've seen online and at Echigoya seem to be 4X, although I saw a mini Acog listed at 3X on RSOV, but it's sold out at the moment. I highly recommend ehobbyasia if you have some way to order online. They have fast shipping and a pretty solid selection of models. Also, their prices are almost half of Echigoya, and some other Japanese stores I've seen.

As far as red dots go, this cheap Dealextreme model I got has worked great. After I co-opted with my iron sights I've been hitting point of aim pretty steady.
As I mention before, when people review these airsoft "red dot" sights, they dont actually test the things that matter, like say....the dot pointing where you're going to shoot when you look through it. The claim to fame with the aimpoints is that wherever that red dot is, no matter what angle your head is at in relation to the scope, is where your gun is going to hit, period.

With airsoft replica sights, it's just a red laser on a piece of glass! So when your head isnt EXACTLY in like with the sight, it's completely useless. You'd might as well just switch it off and use is as a big "this is about where my bbs will hit hole", because it's not a red dot sight.

I have yet to use an airsoft red dot or "holosight" that projects a proper aiming reticule, even at sub 100 meter ranges. When using them in a tactical environment it has lead me to dismiss airsoft optics for practical use entirely. I now use them as tacti-cool accessories. That's why I said just get a 3x sight. At least you know you're going to get something accurate at whatever range you need.

Here's a good article on what I'm talking about. I challenge you to try this on any of your red dot sights. On my old G&P red dot acog I could get about a foot of shift at 15 feet, COMPLETELY unacceptable. My Hurricane eotech is a bit better, but still not enough to warrant using it over just using iron sights or aiming over the sights.

A great example of what I'm talking about in case you dont feel like reading the article. The second sight shown is a REAL Holosight

Here's an AIRSOFT replica holosight, like the one I have. Notice the 6 inches or so of error at a distance no more than 10 feet away. Make that range a normal airsoft engagement of about 100 feet and you're looking at missing by FEET, not inches.

Yup, Wraith, exactly what I meant. I have a replica red dot which moves the wrong direction when I move my head, making the shooting off.
Again though, the Hurricane Holosight on the other hand is perfect and the aim stays on the same point wherever I put my head at, pretty crazy.
No doubt, Airsoft red dots are probably no where near the spec of the real deal, but the price difference is significant. Most of the ACOG's listed seem to be magnified, so Tifast should be able to find one that suits his needs. Haven't seen any reviews for G&P stuff, but it looks decent enough, and the parts I've bought from them have been solid.
