Their face mask have a different type of mesh, it actually doesn't really seem like a mesh but more like a metal plate with many holes, if you see what I mean. I think the ones we gonna have will be better in the way that we can easily twist and bend the mesh to adapt it to our face features, and will absorb shocks from BBs in a more efficient way, without breaking.
I must admit that the combo looks good though (with a balaclava under). I just can't get myself to play with mesh glasses... even how great it is to avoid the fog and being more stealthy, I want my eyes to be behind a thick layer of material, with no holes in it, when I get shot in the eyes.
nice link Q, this set-up looks very nice:

Be mindful of mesh goggles! Especially since this type of mesh is less impact resistant then the one from Brassguard. Holes can actually occur on the long run.
I find the idea of mesh goggles crazy. The chance that something might get through to my eyes scares the $#@% out of me. IF your eyes get damaged it's for life. I always wear goggles and a face mask (teeth dont grow back!).

It's been reported that BB fragments went through the mesh
Have you guys watched the Dr.Airsoft videos on eye protection tests?
He is a certified Doctor that has taken an interest in Airsoft safety and injury.
I have heard him on a few podcasts, but here is his homepage with some testing videos.

Great link GingaNinga - don't think I'll be using mesh goggles!
The brand Q posted did some hardcore tests with six repetitive point blank shots into the steel mesh at 530+ fps, and there was no hole. That said, it would probably still allow bb shards and chipped paint through. (awesome looking M4 they used, btw)
I think a big difference between this brand and some others is that this is stamped steel, not wire mesh.

The link from GingaNinga also has a link to this page with some interesting tests showing paintball goggles as the safest bet:

I think shooting glasses are probably even more dangerous than mesh goggles given:
1. there is no solid seal around the lens
2. no head-strap to keep them on your face (i.e. nothing to stop them from falling off when running through tree branches etc)
3. the frames were all completely destroyed in the tests these guys did -- which means that even though the lens might be strong, you'd be in a bad situation if the first shot breaks your frame, leaving your lens half falling off your face, and there are still several bb's headed towards your eyes...
On a related subject, I am pro-full face protection - back when I worked at a paintball field (and prior to that field implementing mandatory full-face protection), I've witnessed first-hand two cases where people got shot INSIDE their mouths... not fun......
I guess everyone has there own thoughts on this, but personally, although they don't look as cool, I think I'll stick with my paintball goggles. I like the idea of keeping my teeth intact, so I'll either try the lower mask that Q found or stick with the paintball mask.
Hmm... I don't want to say that the stamped mask is bad, but actually I have simpler solution (not a cool looking one) here
You can just buy some neckwarmer at nearest drugstore (OD or Black is reccomended, can't have pink target on your face during skirmish

) and put it around your face. it's thick enough to resist 1 joule of energy. I don't reccomend it during summer game. You'll gasp for air in no time with those neckwarmer.
Anyhow, I also would like to buy the stamped mask, but considering that I don't have any income yet, I can't afford it at present.
PS: It's so Tacticool!!!! I love stamped steel mask...
I have been using the Tokyo Marui Pro Googles from the very beginning. They were the only thing I found that would fit over my glasses. They are a full face, but the bottom section is easy to remove. The fan functions very well, and they are extremely good quality. I have had mine for probably close to 18 months, and they are still the best choice in my mind.
I bought a pair of Wiley X with an RX adapter, and had custom lenses put in. Unfortunately they were really weird as the lenses were very close to my face and at an extreme angle. The Googles didn't fog, but the lenses did. I had both a sense of vertigo and a lack of visibility
I really hoped that the full face mesh that Ycare brought in would work over my glasses, but unfortunately they didn't. Having a few BB shards enter also had me a bit worried, as I reported on that thread.
I have considered contacts, but I have a bit of a phobia about putting things in my eye. I can barely put eye drops in when I am suffering horrible hay fever, let alone contacts!
I know you all look so much cooler in your awesome BOLLE and other tactical eye protection, and I wish I could go down that road, but I think I have ended my search. I am going to stick with the Tokyo Marui. The fan is great in the Japanese humid weather, they fit over my glasses, and I can make game day decisions about the full face mask depending on my mood and who I am playing with.
Maybe I can get someone to custom paint them multicam

I think I've got a pretty solid thing going right now. Combining the steel mesh full face masks that came in from Russia and wearing a set of safety glasses underneath. Thanks to the joule limit (never thought I'd be saying that) I'm not concerned in the least about the mask actually breaking and letting any actual bbs through, and just in case I get popped from point blank, the safety glasses take care of fragmentation problems. The two work together in harmony and there are no fogging issues, so I'm quite happy with the results.
Also, regarding full face protection, I can't agree enough with Psycho, but maybe I'm a special case. The chances are obviously pretty small, but if I took a bb in the right conditions on the right place, I'd lose one of my precious silly piercings that I love so much. One advantage of my old mask over my new mesh one is that it had full ear protection, and I'm currently trying to figure out an elegant solution for that issue. In the last game I just kept my hoodie up, but that's not really quite as feasible as temperatures rise. I'd also like to get some camo on the rest of my head instead of just having it all be black.
People using multicam balaclavas, how have you found their performance? Do they offer even a small amount of padding, and are there significant heat issues at play? Anyone know where I can find a good one in Tokyo? I didn't see any last time I was in Akiba.
KiwiGlen, ThunderMidget, and myself use these...

handy in all kinds of weather and to cover the ears, etc.
No real padding per say, but in your case would probably prevent a piercing from being hit directly and pulled away from the force.
Might look for it elsewhere than ebay banned, but with free shipping, their prices can't be beat.
Ah, thanks for the link.
My primary concern is having a pellet hit me right on the ear in a part of skin with a piece of metal right behind it, which would potentially mean the skin might get split due to the force of impact. Maybe there's not enough mass going around though, so it's possible it's an irrelevant concern.
Whether it's a perfect replica, whether it's the russians selling to ebairsoft, because the mask in the pic is the exact same than the one I received, including every little detail visible.
