I thought it was a relatively interesting story, and helps drive home just how important every aspect of the military is. Without the right information, the muscle can't really be expected to perform very well, and vice versa.

Ycare mentioned something in a closed thread that reminded me of this, so I thought I'd share in case anyone out there hadn't read about it yet.
I've always liked the story of this Op because it setup the need for Spec Ops pilots. The 160th SOAR Night Stalkers were born from this tragedy. I recommend reading Mike Durants biography, he was a 160th pilot shot down in the Black Hawk Down battle. The book covers his ordeal in more detail, but also gives some great insight about the type of training these guys need, and the type of missions they run. A lot has been said and shown about the operators who go in on foot, but more needs to be said about the dudes that get them there and out again.
