So I was wondering how long it would take for Activision to start really hosing the Call of Duty name with their typically classy moves, now that they kicked out he founders of IW. I give them credit, it was faster than I thought.

$15? What the hell? $8 would have been the smart price, $10 would probably have been OK to. But this is ridiculous, especially when you consider 2 of those maps are reworks of MW1 maps.
Hi Drifter.

What makes you think that USD 15 is the wrong price? Just curious.

Is it because it prices out some people?
Modern Warfare 2 costs about $60 USD. So you are paying 1/4th the price for 5 maps, 2 of which are CoD4 maps. Yes they have been rejigged, but it's still essentially a resell. MW1 had 4 original maps in their map pack, which cost $10, still not a price that I was totally behind, but it was at least all original content. So basically, for some reason, Activision felt that 1 more map in a pack is worth an extra $5. I highly doubt they did it because of IW's hard work (because it appears no one at IW has seen cent 1 of the royalties from MW2). They are doing it because they can, and charging your fanbase money 'just cause' is a sure fire way to kill it off. Will the map pack sell well? Probably since I imagine 90% of the MW2 audience doesn't know what's going on and will pay anything to get more. But it's nickel and diming, and it's no way to treat your customers. It's bad business.
Tifast, it's the wrong price because you shouldnt HAVE to pay for maps. Activision is going to run CoD into the ground, and I cant wait.

bad company 2's first TWO map packs are FREE. THAT is the right price, and the game is much better than MW2 anyway.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying BC2, but I also like MW2's multi, there's a speed to it that is very refined. My biggest issue with it is that they still can't seem to get the hacking under control. Personally I'd say maybe 1 out of 10 games I've played has had serious hacker problems, but that 1 game is usually enough to make me wanna stop playing for a bit.

To be fair, BC2's maps are on the disc apparently, and will be unlocked for VIP members (anyone who bought the game originally, not used). That said, it still feels better that ponying up $15 for maps where I still have to deal with crazy speed hackers and other annoying factors.
