Wondering if I could shoot to react to attacks of opponents when I'm medic?

How should I think about this?
In general yes. We play with armed medics.
But not when in th act of healing a player. You can not heal and attack at the same time. You have to put down your weapon to heal a player...

Is it okay if the medic stops the healing process to draw his weapon? For example he starts to place the bandage, sees an enemy coming up, drops the bandage and switches to his weapon. As long as he's not doing both at once it's cool, right?
Yes, but then he has to remake the countdown from the start.

Guess that makes sense, patient would start bleeding out again.
The medic rule promotes teamwork. I'd make sure that you will always have a supporting group of players giving you cover during any healing process. If you are a Medic and you are about to make a dash to save a fallen teammate make sure that before you do so you have backup. As far as using your weapon during the healing process, I think this can be allowed but you would need to restart the countdown after firing your weapon.
Some games in the past were based on a 30 second medic count...the medic would place BOTH hands on a player and count to 30 to heal them. If they stopped healing a player to attack they would have to restart the count.

Recent games have been using bandages to heal, so that there is a physical and visual act involved to indicate a medic is healing someone. If the medic stops to engage then they would have to complete the healing process (make sure the bandage is properly placed and secured, etc).

This is my understanding of the current medic rules.
THK many teachers!

Understood that a medic player ...

1). basically should move with teammates to be supported by them when he'll be trying a healing process.
2). is not allowed to both cure fallen mates and shoot a gun to enemies at the same time.
3). have to remake a count if he suspend the count to attack enemies. (when the count rule is adopted.)

Is that sth like that?
yes, something like that. In general we agree/recall the rules before playing the game. Don't stick too much to one "final" understanding.
I think the bandage rule is pretty good...more realistic if you ask me...plus takes a little less time then holding hands and counting ^^
@Tifast
See that updates are necessary for making rules betterIdea

@Brandon
