The A&K Magpul Licensed Masada has a two-piece clear plastic hop-up that does not seem to be replaceable with one-piece hop-up units available in the market now. On tests the stock hop-up unit actually works pretty well. But I'm not sure how it will perform in games.
The one I modified, if my memory serves me right had an unported cylinder and a leaky piston setup. The piston cannot be used with aftermarket piston heads. Bushings may have been plastic because I installed 6 mm bearings. The gearset isn't too bad. Spring guide, I believe was metal with no bearings.
Overall pretty good, but what I fixed wasn't mine so I don't have it anymore.
I wonder if you fixed mine Hazard, or rather Rooboy's now? I bought it off of dmhikaru.
I have heard that the hop up can be replaced with a Systema but it prevents the quick change outer/inner barrel system from working. Pretty sure Kenzie has a systema hop-up in his.
Yeah.. it still seem a lot of work for an AEG that will most likely be revisited soon anyway.
I'd rather get a nice new M4 meanwhile that I will have fun tweaking with thousands of available parts that will be compatible than going ahead with a crazy project that's gonna be a headache. I'll wait for the new ACR, A&K will be releasing it again anyway believing their new website:

Yeah saw that... I'll follow up closely.

I'm starting to like the new look but still prefer the prototype's handguard ^^
The new Magpul Masada ACR is available for preorders on WGC and eHobby, comes in black, FDE, and foliage green. The handguard is the same as the Masada, only big difference is the stock not being fold-able, although it seems like it is ready to adapt other RS stocks and options out of the box.
I'm gonna go for it there I must say... this seems pretty badass. Just got to sell one of my M4 now ^^
Yes delivery is about a month. Pity no blowback.
Other differences include the charging handle position & flip sites I believe.
I wanna wait till they release the Enhanced version, or at least the parts for the enhanced version. I really like the folding stock look, and I want that railed handguard.
Funny, I actually prefer a lot the MOE style of the Masada. And stock wise, I prefer the look of the unfoldable, although on a pure practical side I'd prefer if it folded for transportation lol...
But hey, that's just my French taste

I totally agree, transportation is always on my mind when it comes to airsoft! Such is the life for those without a car, lol.
That said, it looks pretty easy to remove the stock on the gun, so you could just have it off when you carry it then toss it back on when you get to the field.
So for you guys who are keen on getting the Magpul PTS Masada in Japan, it looks like Echigoya will have them from August 10th :-

For those who ordered from HK, supposedly later in the month (there's meant to be a 1 month difference anyway between releases in US/Japan/Europe vs. HK, etc.)
56,000 yen... ahem. Even with waiting 1 months, still prefer HK personally. "Time is money" I guess ^^
