Hmm, alright. Guess I'll keep waiting for the PTS version. Also looking forward to watching you guys field these things next game.
Well... not mine, problem with the barrel and still waiting for eHobby Asia to wake up and email me back, although I have Magpul PTS backing me up on that one.
I created two quick videos when I first got mine.

Nice vids Ginga, I like how you sat cross legged on the floor to do your work, very zen Tongue Sorry to hear about your gun Ycare, what exactly is wrong with the barrel? Hope they can fix before the next game.
Apparently have a unique case of strong barrel wobble, and I have to screw the barrel a little too far every time I want the barrel to stop wobbling, which makes me think there is either something missing in the Quick release system of the barrel, or manufacturing problem.

I'll contact again Magpul by the end of the week if eHobby keeps ignoring me, I'm pretty sure Magpul would be much more efficient.
Sorry to hear eHobby isn't getting back to you Ycare.

I took the ACR out back the house last night and fired a magazine of tracers off to get a visual sense of how the hop-up is, and to do some general testing.

The hop-up was throwing bbs heavily to the right. I cranked the hop-up and distance increased, but the bbs kept swinging right.
I found that setting the hop-up to high wouldn't over hop my bbs, it would just slow them down and decrease distance. I brought the hop down a bit at a time and found a sweet spot that seemed to remove the right hand swing and give me a good distance.
As recommended over at arnies, I am going to replace the hop-up bucking with some guarded 50% and see if that helps. I also have some Hnubs coming soon that I might try and fit as well, but I am concerned that it might push me over the 1J limit and might not be compatible anyway.

After coming in last night I figured I would grab the camera and take some video. I turned the hop-up off and didn't have the sights zeroed in. I was trying to put all bbs from a set in one spot, rather than try and hit the target dead center.

Here's the video...

Here is the target after about 50 rounds.

I missed three shots in the red group (they hit the right side of the frame), and the first shot of the blue set (it hit low).

I also noticed that front sight has cut a groove into the top rail. I have only deployed the sight a few times (3 or 4), so am a bit disappointed that it has damaged teh rail in this way.

I just posted this in the of Arnies (i.e. everyone should be able to read it, you don't need an Arnie's account). It's about the folding stock missing threads for the screw for the single point sling.
I have always hated folding stocks Smile

The stock that came on the MASADA fit me perfect, so I will not bother with the folding one, but I look forward to the shorter front end.

There seem to be more and more issues popping up with the MAGPUL Sad
Yikes, sorry to hear guys. I think Q sums it well, PTS is probably trying to get these into shops as quickly as possible and quality control might be riding a bit of a back seat. Here's hoping things get worked out for everyone soon, and they get all the bugs out of the manufacturing process. I want to get an ACR, but I'm gonna hold off until the kinks are all ironed out. Also, I think I want the AK version.
Yeah, at first I was thinking I was an isolated case, especially after eHobby Asia I was only part of 3 among a 100 orders, but the more time goes, the more problems surface.
Too bad there is only a one month warranty on those...
There was talk over at Arnies about setting up an ACR registry so that people can try and track issues, quality control, etc.
I took it upon myself to create a very simple forum to meet that request.

If anyone with an ACR would like to jump on, it would be appreciated.

Good job on that Ginga, you surpass everyone's expectation Wink
Haha.
Has your new one come in yet Ycare?
In customs, I'm hoping to get it tomorrow or something like that. I don't know if I can convince the customs to not tax me twice on the same item though since I already paid it. I still have the receipts and stuff, I'll see what they say.
FYI:

22-Sep-2010 Japan Arrived and is being processed.
22-Sep-2010 Japan Pending customs inspection.
22-Sep-2010 Japan Pending customs inspection.
28-Sep-2010 Japan In transit.

F*ckin Japanese customs, almost a full week there.
