It was in their 2010 catalog, though it might look more like the ACR than the prototype Masada build.

Thanks for the correction Drifter,
I am waiting patiently for it!

They mention a Remington ACR, but I don't see anything about the Masada besides it being a prototype.
Thanks, but I'll still be looking for a Masada meanwhile

This is getting off-topic but FYI of the different Masadas : -
1) A&K Masada - shouldn't be available anymore but still can find in Japan (as per Kenzie)
2) PTS AEG Masada #1 - Basically an A&K Masada but now properly approved by Magpul PTS. This A&K has a holographic logo
3) G&P Masada - (2) but with G&P internals
4) PTS AEG Masada #2 - ok this is the -real- Magpul PTS Masada based on the Remington or Bushmaster version of the ACR. This is -not- out yet and was rumoured to be out around May (but then again we know rumours).
5) PTS GBB Masada - so far.

Thanks guys for the update and link!
So the Masada that you posted Kenzie, is the one that isn't licensed by Magpul if I get this right? A&K first made one without license and then after Magpul approval licensed it, right? Internally 1 and 2 are the same then?
For number 4, is this just rumor or actually expected? Magpul never made an AEG, so I guess it would be G&P/A&K licensing those again, am I right?
Kenzie's link is tempting... but I want to make sure I'm not getting a crappy one ^^
Edit: Additionally, do you guys really advise to wait for the updated one, believing it's not just a rumor, or no idea?

A&K had 2 choices...get sued or pay licensing and get official PTS approval/badge. They paid licensing. One day though I'd like to understand Japan laws 'cos they're almost immune to copyright!!
#4: which part are you asking about rumour vs real? If you're talking about the product, it's real...it was in ShotShow 2010. If you're asking about the May date, that's rumour. Put it this way even if the availability date came from Magpul PTS, it's still "rumour" 'cos they've missed the deadline so many times themselves.
But it's not A&K/G&P licensing. Magpul PTS has been delaying the release of #4 'cos it's based on the real final Remington or Bushmaster version. A&K was based on the Magpul Masada prototype instead. So Magpul PTS said they won't release the airsoft version until the real steel final version is out (and I now see the RS version being sold - pretty expensive). So in a way, I may trust the May date more seriously this time. Yes, there are differences between the Magpul prototype and the final Remington/Bushmaster.
Kenzie's link, A&K actually quite a good repro actually! That's how they got licensing from PTS so easily without many modifications! Seems their QA met PTS requirements.
I've been waiting/following up with the Masada/ACR for years now...waiting, waiting, waiting. I reckon I can wait another month longer. But I'd really like the GBB version.

Ahhh, I see, so the Magpul/Bushmaster ACR is actually pretty much the Masada but relabeled? I was afraid it would be completely modified, but from what I've found about the real steel, it's pretty much still the very same, like that: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2008/...aster-acr/ right?
Well if it's the case, then I'd better wait for the new one too then, can only be improved compared with the old A&K model.
Thanks guys!

Nope, Magpul/Bushmaster/Remington ACR (hereafter called ACR) is the Masada modified. It's not completely modified as the basic shape stays the same but some things change...e.g. the charging handle on the ACR is more forward than the Masada. The front sight too has changed (but I'm trying to see how).

Yeah the ACR is the final production version of the MASADA, which was renamed when Remington optioned to co-produce the weapon, and enter it as a replacement for the M4 rifle. To me, it looks like they pushed the design closer to the SCAR rifle, at least on the enhanced version. The basic version still looks a lot like the Masada

Thanks for the link Drifter, I indeed got to see how different ACR differ.
Now I guess I'll have to make up my mind whether I go with A&K Masada prototype or wait for a new licensed ACR Basic version AEG.
---
Edit: Meh, after reading some reviews, it looks like the internal are pretty crappy and I'll probably have to end up changing a lot. For 30,000 yen it's a bit expensive for just the externals. I'll probably wait for G&P or Ares to make one of those new ACR.

Ycare,
You are spot on. I know 3 people with them, and they have all made changes to the internals...mainly the hop-up unit.
There was also someone on here awhile back selling his (not the one I bought) and he mentioned he had trouble with his as well.
If you buy the A&K you will have to do some work on it.
Here are the threads incase you missed them...

Ycare,
My Masada is same as the link which I posted. But mine which bought last July is Black with logo. It was not licensed by MAGPUL then.
It needed to adjust the internal parts. Especially, it was HOP UP unit. I had exchanged to Systema Hop Up instead of A&K original.
I paid about 20,000 yen for internal adjusting. But now, it will be able to within 4800yen(only adjusting fee).

Mmmh, thanks Kenzie for the info. I'm short this month so just gonna wait and see if the Masada is still there next month, I might just buy it since I really like its style ^^
