Thanks for the feedback Ycare. I know you don't "make the rules," but as a valued member of the TKO community, your feedback is always appreciated.

The advantage of the "modifier cards" is meant to try and keep things even. Only a team that lost the last round can use a game modifier, so hopefully this advantage will help them win the next round. This will hopefully keep the day close, and prevent a blow out, which can make things less fun after 3 or 4 hours of constant losses. "Full Auto" modifier, like all the other modifiers, can have a huge advantage when played with a strategy in mind.

If people decide not to use Mo Ammo, that is fine, but I would like to leave it in there as it might be an advantage for a guy like Rooboy who only has 2 regular magazines, and having his loader could make the difference between getting a win in the final minutes of a game or having to go back and reload. It may turn out worthless, but I would like to try it.

I am sorry to hear your guns have semi-auto issues. I could always sell you back your G36C...it seems fine on semi-auto Tongue
Seriously though, I don't want to have game rules that cause players to have less fun because their gear isn't working properly...but the idea of having full auto all day...hmmn. It changes the feel of the game, but I want everyone to play and have fun.

Perhaps the modifier can be a "semi-auto" card. A team can force the other team to play semi-auto. At least you would only have issues for that one game rather than the whole day. Perhaps a "Lo Ammo" could also be used to force less mag carry for a game, but we would have to make sure that players have at least one or two regular mags to make this happen. If a player only has hi-caps then it wouldn't work.

I am trying to find a rule set that makes the day more than just the regular games and takes into account that we are a small group of experienced players. I really like the semi-auto aspect because it forces good positions, smart shots, and better control.

I will leave it open for discussion and let the players decide.

Leave your feedback...
Mainly semi-auto games with full auto modifier?
or
mainly full auto games with a semi-auto modifier?
Haha, sorry for always making a mess of your planning, I really don't intend to do so, I'm merely French, and often question things, that is all, for good and bad Wink

The Semi card sounds definitely to me like something I'd prefer, but if everyone else prefer the opposite, then don't worry, my fun shouldn't spoil everyone else's.

Regarding ammo, I was unaware of Rooboy's magazine problem... it's the Masada, right? What exactly is the issue? I could bring a couple of extra M4 mags if this can help, really don't mind.

Else, the "lo ammo" card also makes more sense to me, mainly because I don't tend to spray like a retard and rarely run low on 15mn games (although the 45mn ones last time were pretty tough indeed on the ammo ^^). But again, I don't want to spoil Rooboy's fun, it's not like he's gonna win anyway since he's not in my team, so I don't want to add insult to injury Big Grin
Rooboy has a couple Hi-Caps and a couple Mi-Caps. I think it is the issue that many seem to have with the Green label Pmags from star. They just don't seem to sit right. I think he will probably play with his MP5, as he has been enjoying the sneaky game style that is more common to the French Smile
That said, I think he only has hi-caps for that gun. We will get it sorted, not to worry.

I will wait for feedback from others and then will decide what to do about modifiers and regular game play (full or semi auto).
My Vote: mainly full auto games with a semi-auto modifier
My Request: please don't make me team lead for the other team Big Grin. I'm sure YCare/Brandon/ChickH would be happy to lead.

Note: did you term the EMP right? "Your opponents can use electric optics or radios"? That ain't much of a penalty mate...
Oops, was there a typo in there Smile
I think I saw one in another card as well. I will fix them when I make the extra 2 tonight.
Thanks for that Q.

You guys decide who will be Team Lead on your team...I can't handle the pressure Smile
There has been a question raised to me directly about Hi-cap usage for this game.
In past games we have set a 2 hi-cap (around 600 rounds) limit to our general games. This took into account that many beginners will buy a few hi-caps to go along with the regular mag that came with their gun. It has been away to make the games more accessible and inviting for new players.

However, this game there will be a one hi-cap limit. Players can use as many lo and mid count mags as they can carry.
Some will argue that this rule is unfair because someone could carry 12 normal mags at 80 rounds each, for a total of nearly 1000 rounds. Yet the hi-cap player is stuck at 400 or less, depending on the weapon.

Why?

This is an advanced game with small numbers. The rules are in place to encourage players to bring lo and mid caps. The game rules force tactical reloads, and working as a team. The rules discourage spray and pray, or just laying on the trigger.

A player with even 2 hi-caps greatly out fires someone with mid-caps, especially when playing full auto games. That one person could hold a team of 4 or 5 players with mid or low caps in place for an extended period of time while the rest of their team rushes a flag or flanks. With only 4 or 5 players per team, the balance of the game could tilt quickly. Semi auto games would at least force trigger work as a balancing factor, but it has been requested by the French that we play full auto Smile

So, for this game, and possible future "advanced" games, we will play with this rule set.

- One hi-cap or as many lo and mids as you can or are willing to carry.
- You can return to base and reload your mags anytime during the game.
- There will be "lo ammo" and "mo ammo" ammo modifiers. Lo Ammo will limit each player to 3 regular mags and no hi-caps. Mo Ammo will allow players to carry speed loaders during a game.

I hope this doesn't cause issues with load outs. Let me know if it does, and I will try to help.
Chicken Hawk,
Are you OK for transportation? Just want to make sure?
Rooboy, KiwiGlen, ThunderMidget, and I will be riding in a full vehicle. I am wondering if others are sorted?
I just got a PM from Brandon saying he might not be able to make it unless he can find a car for the weekend.
Q, Tesla, Ycare, what are you guys doing for transport?
I was thinking train but would be great to share expenses if someone has still space in car...
I have my motorbike, but it all depends on the weather...
I'm driving.
I'll be driving out there.
Brandon is out Sad

Well... at least it's balanced now Undecided
Just called and talked to the field owner...

They don't do lunch service for less than 10 people, so everyone will need to buy lunch off site and bring it with them. There USED TO BE a 7-11 close by, but it was gone when we went to the public game a few weeks ago. Probably best to get food an a convenience store in the morning. They have on site vending machines.

There will be a public game happening at Desert Union on the same day, so almost all of their staff will be there. We have the run of the place.

Weather is calling for cloudy with sunny breaks and 30% chance of rain (down from 50% yesterday)...I think this game is going to go on as planned.

Arrival will be around 9:00 with first game set for 10:00. We might even start earlier. With only 8 of us it might not take a full hour to get ready...

Looking forward to it.
I take an hour to get ready! Big Grin

Looking forward to it too, even though sad my partner in crime can't make it Sad
